The entry deadline for the Tulsa Reining Classic presented by Kimes Ranch is fast approaching. All show entries and stalling forms are due August 3. This year’s Tulsa Reining Classic (TRC) will be held August 27-September 4 at the Built Ford Tough Livestock Complex at Expo Square, with classes held in three arenas including the XoChic Ford Truck Arena, Cilantro Arena and Super Duty Arena.
“This is an extra special year,” said Pete Kyle, owner and manager of the Tulsa Reining Classic. “We are so fortunate to have the support of the reining industry which has contributed to the success of the TRC for the past 20 years. We’re looking forward to hosting a high-quality event and welcome all levels of exhibitors.
One of the National Reining Horse Association’s Top 10 ranked shows, this year’s TRC celebrates its 20th show. Since the first event was held in 2003, the TRC has grown to be one of the largest reining events with more than 3,300 entries in 2021 and is home to the South Central Affiliate Regional Championships, the second qualifying event for the 2022 Adequan® North American Affiliate Championships. in Oklahoma City during the NRHA Futurity and NAAC.
This year’s TRC continues to grow with the addition of The Invitational Reining, a stallion stakes futurity program with a project payout of $575,000 and the inaugural National Ranch Riding Futurity will showcase 3-year-old ranch riding horses on August 27.
The TRC is home to these futurities and derbies in the XoChic Arena:
- August 29 – Cardinal Ranch Emerging Horse Futurity
- August 30 – Not Ruf At All Non Pro Derby & Markel Insurance Novice Horse Non Pro Derby
- August 31 – Tamarack Ranch Developing Horse Futurity
- September 1 – XCS Ranch Non Pro Futurity & The Invitational Non Pro Futurity
- September 2 – Silva Reining Horses LLC Open Futurity
- September 3 – The Invitational Open Futurity & Silva Reining Horses LLC Open Futurity (Level 4 & 2 crossed entered horses)
- September 4 – Elementa Open Derby and Markel Insurance Novice Horse Open Derby
The Cilantro Arena is home to the National Ranch Riding Futurity on August 27. The South Central Affiliate Regional Championships classes begin September 1 and youth classes begin September 3, and are held in both the Cilantro and Super Duty arenas.
Entries for the Tulsa Reining Classic Ancillary, Futurity, Derby, ARC, The Invitational and the National Ranch Riding Futurity can be found here. For the first time, TRC will present high point awards in the Ancillary classes.
