Avila Wins Novice Horse Non Pro Affiliate Reining Championships

(Tulsa, Okla., Sept. 3, 2016) – Saturday the Mustang Arena at Expo Square saw talented Novice Non Pro competition with smart patterns and big stops. Kristen Avila swept the Novice Horse Non Pro Affiliate Reining Championships in both Levels 1 and 2, with a score of 143.

Aliva rode KR Ima Dreamer to the win. She has only had “Bo” for just under a year. However he was an easy horse to get with, because Avila’s husband, Bobby Avila Jr., trained the 5-year-old and showed him as an Open horse. On Saturday she said her main focus was preparing KR Ima Dreamer for Sunday’s affiliate Non Pro competitions.

“It’s just been getting used to him and I partnering up,” Avila said when asked what it was like to throw a leg over KR Ima Dreamer. “He was just great today. I just kind of cruised him through, because he have to show in the Non Pro tomorrow and he was just perfect. I’m so proud of him, he’s just a really great horse and is really consistent for me.”

KR Ima Dreamer is by Magnum Chic Dream out of KR Ima Tejon and the Avilas purchased him from Vaughn Zimmerman.

Second place in the ARC Novice Horse Non Pro Level 1 went to Nichole Ingram riding Chic Whiza Dream (Magnum Chic Dream x Kalico Whiz) with a score of 141.50.

Savannah Ostner finished second in the ARC Novice Horse Non Pro Level 2 riding A Bueno Chic (Bueno Fritzi Nic x A Hollywood Chic) to a score of 142.
