View from the Judge’s Chair with Craig Schmersal

The Global Reining Sport Group announced in early August that National Reining Horse Association $3 Million Rider Craig Schmersal will be joining the line-up of clinicians at the Tulsa Reining Classic, scheduled for Aug. 28-Sept. 3.
Schmersal, who  currently serves on the National Reining Horse Association’s Judging Committee, feels strongly about the need for educating exhibitors and helping them learn the ins and out of the judging system so he is a great choice to teach this year’s “View from The Judge’s Chair” set for Friday, September 1 at 3 pm
Craig said, “I’m excited to help our exhibitors understand what the judges are looking for and help explain the maneuver evaluations.”
Colleen McQuay, President of Tulsa Reining Classic producer Global Reining Sport Group, has known Schmersal for years and admires his impact on the reining world. “Craig is a long-time leader in the reining industry and we are fortunate to have him as part of our teaching team here at the Tulsa Reining Classic. I know the McQuay Stables group will be attending the session! “
Craig specializes in training, showing and selling Futurity and Derby horses. He’s trained and shown multiple Futurity & Derby winners, nine world reining champions, and every one has had its own unique style. He prepares every horse as an individual and finds a way to maximize its strengths and minimize its weaknesses.
The seminar will be held at the Ford Truck Arena Exhibit Hall.
Participation in the Tulsa Reining Classic clinics, which are in their seventh consecutive year and are sponsored by the Global Reining Sport Group, is free.
