Terry Thompson’s View From the Judge’s Chair Returns!

Terry Thompson of Aubrey, Texas brought the smash hit “View From the Judge’s Chair” Seminar to the 2014 Tulsa Reining Classic. Back by popular demand, Terry looks forward to further educating this year’s attendees.

Involved in the Reining industry for 47 years, Terry has been an approved judge for over 30 years. He holds judging cards with NRHA, AQHA, APHA, PHBA, ApHC, NSBA, FEI, and NRCHA. He has served as a member of the NRHA Judge’s committee and teaching panel, on the NRHA Hearing panel and Non Pro committee, and is currently the Reining instructor for the International Equine Judges Seminar.

Terry has judged the NRHA Futurity 5 times and the Quarter Horse Congress 4 times, along with judging the Super Stakes, NRBC, Italian Derby, European Futurities, NRHA Derby, AQHYA World Show, AQHA, APHA, and PHBA World Championship Shows, Arabian Nationals, APHYA and PHBA World Championship Shows.

In the show arena, Terry has earned over $320,000 and is ranked in the top 75 NRHA all-time Open Leading Money Earners. As the coach of over 200 youth and non pro appaloosa world champions and an earner of over 200 open appaloosa world championships, Terry has perspective from many facets of the industry.
Matt Mills Takes the Reins of Youth Reining Horsemanship Clinic!

Born and raised in Southern California, Matt Mills began riding horses at an early age. He enjoyed a successful career as a youth rider, earning multiple championships throughout California in a variety of disciplines including western pleasure, horsemanship and trail. In 1996 he switched his focus to reining and a few years later established his own training operation in Scottsdale, Arizona. He trains and shows futurity and derby horses and also coaches several successful Non Pro and youth riders.

One of his most memorable accomplishments was winning the 2006 USEF Open Reining Championship on Easy Otie Whiz in Lexington, Kentucky. With a career-high score of 231.5, that ride qualified him to be a member of Team USA that proudly brought home the gold medal from the World Equestrian Games (WEG) in Aachen, Germany.

Matt is consistently ranked on the NRHA Top Twenty Professionals Riders list and has NRHA lifetime earnings over $500,000. A multiple finalist at major NRHA event
s, he has earned the NRHA Intermediate Open Futurity Reserve Championship as well as multiple titles at the National Reining Breeders Classic.

Besides his training laurels the success of his students has made him an in-demand clinician in the United States, Europe and Mexico.

Carol’s main focus is reining horses and she says she loves reining because it is challenging, keeps your attention and it is always fun.

Her Non Pro philosophy is centered on teaching each person individually to help them understand the training process of their horses. The highest reward for Carol is watching her clients and horses succeed. This has led Carol and her clients to multiple AQHA World and NRHA Championships. Along with her many other laurels, Carol was selected by her peers as the 2013 NRHA Horsewomen Of The Year.
