The American Paint Horse Association will bring a splash of color to the 2014 Tulsa Reining Classic, slated for August 26-31. A new partnership has been created between APHA and The Tulsa Reining Classic according to Cheryl Cody of the TRC Management Team.
She noted, “We’re so pleased to welcome the APHA on board for Tulsa. They will be awarding eleven Gist Silversmiths custom-made buckles to high-finishing Paint horses at the show.”
Kalyn Sanders, Director of Business Development for the American Paint Horse Association, said that the awards will be given in both the aged events and the ancillary classes. She explained, “The buckles will be awarded to the highest advancing Paint Horses in the aged events. In the NRHA Non Pro, Rookie Non Pro, Youth and Open Classes, the buckle will go to the High Point Paint that competes in both slates of classes.”
“The Paint Horse breed is dynamic, versatile and athletic—qualities that go hand-in-hand with the sport of reining. The Tulsa Reining Classic provides a great opportunity to showcase high-achieving Paint Horses and these exceptional horses and exhibitors with some extra recognition from APHA.”
Paint entries at Tulsa are eligible for some important additional benefits, according to Sanders. “If the exhibitor/owner still needs to register his or her horse with APHA, they can save $15 by doing so online. We also offer an ‘older horse’ registration promotion of $100 for the Regular Registry and $50 for Solid Paint-Bred. Just visit the online registration page at http://www.apha.com/association/pressroom/releases/2014/03/21/online-registration. Our friendly MemberCare team is ready to help, should you have questions or need assistance with the process, by calling 817-222-6423 Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. CST.”
Owners who opt to submit registration paperwork by mail, should be sure to write TULSA REINING on the front of the envelope to receive complimentary rush processing – a $100 value!
Buckles will be given to the highest advancing Paint Horse in the following events, the Cardinal Ranch Open Derby, the Ariat Novice Horse Open Derby, the SmartPak Non Pro Derby, the Ariat Novice Horse Non Pro Derby, the Turnabout Farm Non Pro Futurity, the Darling 888 Ranch Developing Horse Open Futurity, and the Hollywoodstinseltown Open Futurity.
In addition to these awards, the American Paint Horse Association has designated the Tulsa Reining Classic as one of the approved shows for 2015 APHA World Show qualification.
